Katherine MacLean Wins the 2011 Cordwainer Smith Rediscovery Award
The Rediscovery Award is chosen each year by a panel of judges who know a great deal about science fiction, and
about who deserves to be rediscovered. The Award is given during Readercon.
This year's award went for the first time to a living writer, Katherine MacLean. Scott Edelman videotaped her
being interviewed by Samuel R. Delany and put the hour or so conversation up on youtube:
For details of her life and work see this Wikipedia
article.
And here is a link to
her works at Amazon. I noticed while getting this link that several of her books are on the Kindle, and four of
those are free. Here's the link to the
Kindle books by Katherine MacLean. I've already loaded several onto my own Kindle.
Fun to have the award go to someone who can enjoy getting it!
If you click through on the links I provide to Amazon and other vendors, and if you make a
purchase, in most cases I receive compensation.
